During consciousness and intoxication, mysterious forces within and outside have danced to the intensity of my passion. The symphony of my determination to make them dance has never fallen weak nor faltered.

burn to ashes & independance day

Ohh the Ashes fever has got to me! Ive been sick for the past two days. Must be all those long hours in the hospital library thats finally given me something. Or maybe it was just Taimoor, a man so sick should just choose to stay in but oh no....someone had to get his f*^%in muligatwany f**^ soup. Just couldnt wake up on time this morning for college; was too sick! finally managed to get out of bed with 20 mins left before the Gynae lecture (and u know I never miss those). Made it on time! attendance and all.
Looks like its gonna be an interesting match at Oval. I urge everyone to watch it, apparently $70m worth of betting has been going on over this one match. England are all set to win. Amazing. Great runout in the picture above by Simon Katich!

What is the deal with some people on 14th August? It is so ridiculous the kind of things you get to see on that night. I was going to the hospital at around 1AM with my friend (to study?), and on the way there we saw people doing some of the most insane things. Nothing was more insane than this one man driving around with 4 children (all under 10 years of age) sitting outside the car windows holding on to life with one hand and a flag with the other. This was again, at 1AM. Felt sorry for the kids so I tried to signal to the guy to use his head, and he just laughed it off. Weird.
Anyways, the infamous Gringos were out in full force. Now, for those of you who dont know this term, gringo. I first heard it a couple years ago from my good friend, Rasikh. He said that, the guys who ride around on motorcycles on 14th August, sometimes wearing long hair wigs, and at others times, erm...ladies garments over top of their clothes, riding around without the muffler of their bikes and doing all sorts of primitive activities...well, those are what you call gringos. Its funny watching them from a distance, they'll block roads and start dancing until the police comes and starts beating anyone they can get their hands on with their batons. At which point, they simply get on their bikes and move on to a different location, this goes on all night. Occasionally, they'll be driving in their car's, side by side and hold hands from the windows, the gringos love holding hands, they'll drive really slow to hold up traffic behind them. The gringos who ride on cars are pumpin bollywood music, and usualy have stupid slogans on their rear window, like "MOTOO", "MOM SAYS NO GIRL", "DANGER RIDER". Eventually, many of them end up in hospital emergencies with all sorts of accidents from doing stunts on their bikes etc. So, upon our arrival at the hospital, we decided to walk past the ER and saw quite a few gringos making life difficult for all the over-worked under-paid doctors! :) Got any funny gringo stories to share? Would love to hear them - post in comments!

Watched a movie I really liked, its called Burn Up. Movie about oil companies and global warming. Watch it if you get time, really enjoyed it...and cant wait for the second part.

LOL@ the term "gringos"

I know its annoying to see what people find amusing in this country and the extreme measures people take to express their enthusiasm when it comes to august 14th ... over the top and mostly just messed up , i agree. but messed up still has more character than bland and wound up.If you think about it besides eid what other big holiday do we have ..so if once a year people decide to go out and try to have a good time whichever way they see fit what's wrong with that ? AND as far as the gringos are concerned hats off to them for being completely out of their minds ... i'm pretty sure the better percentage of them get their asses creamed by the cops at some point or the other but hey atleast they're living it up! I dont care what people say but thats essential PAK for us and i for one miss all that flavour.

jashn-e-azadi mubarik to you too!
Cheers :)

indeed, I agree with you. I remember mentioning it to my friend, that to us it looks pretty weird and messed up what these people are doing. But theyre genuinely happy & enjoying every minute of it. And that is the only thing that really matters.

so one time, me and my gang of biker buddies were doing wheelies on Mall. we saw a couple of chicknees in a dubba and threw our numbers through their windows. and then to be extra impressive, i shook my hair in the wind and did a little 'donut'. the bandi's were mad impressed and the goofiest looking one called me the next morning to grab some cholay-poori's.

Dear estranged writer,
I think you owe this blog one more entry ... just for closure...kinda like a goodbye before you move on to better things in life ,you might not remember but i'm sure this blog ,as irrelevant as it might seem today, made you feel good at some point of your life and you cant just walk away from something that was a part of...YOU.
So yes, this blog deserves a proper goodbye.
Think about it...
